UPTT Reagent for Biocompatibility Activation Studies

       UPTT reagent (Un-Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time) is specially formulated for biocompatibility research for determining the affects of materials and substances that activate the coagulation cascade. UPTT is a lyophilized preparation of rabbit brain cephalin that supplies the phospholipid platelet substitute which, when exposed to activated coagulation factors XII and XI, initiates the coagulation cascade and produces a fibrin endpoint. This reagent may be used in manual or automated coagulation analyzers. For research applications only.
